New Delhi: Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited, formerly known as Max Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited, and Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) have decided to extend a helping hand to India's underprivileged elderly population under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The CSR program, funded by both the organisations, has been, running for three years. .

In the first two years, the program focused on sponsoring cataract operations for nearly 2,300 underprivileged elderly individuals, in partnership with NGO Helpage India. This year, the Pratishtha campaign has shifted its focus to providing meals to senior citizens in need.

Now, Max Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited and Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) have collaborated with Sunanda Foundation, a reputed charitable trust recognised by the Government of Maharashtra in 2023, for the welfare work for the elderly.

The Sunanda Foundation, understanding the plight of elderly individuals abandoned by their families, established the Radhika Old-Age Home in 2016. Currently, the Home provides shelter to 100 elderly individuals, including 50 bedridden residents across two centres in the Thane district.

In a ceremony marking the culmination of the third phase of the Pratishtha campaign, Ajay Kumar Srivastava, MD & CEO of IOB, and Aseem Gupta, Director & Head of Bancassurance at Niva Bupa, presented a symbolic cheque to Sunanda Foundation. This donation will provide over 33,000 meals, covering three meals a day for more than 100 senior citizens residing in their old-age home in Mumbai for approximately four months.

Through this partnership, Niva Bupa and IOB aim to make a tangible, positive impact on the lives of vulnerable populations.
