Itanagar: In the heart of Deomali, a small town nestled amidst the lush greenery of Arunachal Pradesh, a beacon of hope has emerged for the youth of Tirap and Longding districts. The inauguration of the first digital creative learning center, named "Adhyayan: The Learning Pavilion," at Wangcha Rajkumar Government College (WRGC), marks a significant milestone in the region's quest for educational empowerment.

Addressing Educational Challenges

Tirap and Longding districts, plagued by issues of insurgency and drug abuse, have long grappled with low literacy rates and limited access to modern educational resources. Recognising these challenges, and driven by the vision and passion of the very dynamic Chief Minister Pema Khandu, the Deomali Administration embarked on a series of initiatives aimed at transforming the educational landscape of the region.

"The goal of Project Adhyayan is to revolutionise learning pedagogy in our community by providing state-of-the-art facilities and modern technology to nurture young minds, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds," says Vishakha Yadav, IAS, who as Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Deomali was the driving force behind the project.

Yadav is currently posted as DC of Kurung Kumey.

A Vision of Empowerment

With the unwavering support of Minister Wang ki Lowang, Project Adhyayan aims to instill a love for learning among local children and youth. The Learning Pavilion serves as a multifaceted hub for education, equipped with a vast library boasting over 4500 books across various genres, including a special collection of 900 books for children.

"The Learning Pavilion is not just a library; it's a catalyst for change," avers Yadav. "Through initiatives like the Read Out Loud program, we're laying the foundation for lifelong learning and empowering children with essential literacy and numeracy skills."

A Gateway to Opportunity

Beyond its role as a library, the Learning Pavilion offers cutting-edge digital infrastructure and Wi-Fi connectivity, bridging the digital divide and providing access to online resources and educational tools. Additionally, the center will host coaching classes for entrance exams in collaboration with the Indian Army, offering guidance to aspiring candidates from the region.

"We believe that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future," says Yadav. "By providing coaching for competitive exams and fostering a culture of learning, we're paving the way for our youth to achieve their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society," she adds.

Building Community and Cultivating Pride

In addition to its educational offerings, the Learning Pavilion serves as a cultural hub, celebrating the rich heritage of the region through displays of local history and artifacts. "By showcasing our heritage and honoring local role models, we're instilling a sense of pride and motivation in our children," explains Yadav.
