
New Delhi: Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with A.P. Moller - Maersk to explore strategic collaboration in ship repair, maintenance, and shipbuilding in India. The partnership aligns with the Government of India’s Vision 2047 and Union Budget 2025-26 initiatives to enhance India's maritime sector and position the country as a global maritime leader.
Under the MoU, CSL and Maersk will share technical expertise to meet global standards in ship maintenance. The collaboration will focus on expanding ship repair, dry docking, and shipbuilding operations. Additionally, both companies will work on joint training programmes, promoting sustainable practices within the maritime industry.
The partnership will also include skill development initiatives aimed at enhancing the technical expertise of CSL’s workforce and Maersk’s seafarers. This strategic collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to India’s maritime growth, strengthening the country’s shipbuilding and ship repair capabilities on the global stage.
