Anurag Garg appointed as new Director General of NCB

New Delhi: Anurag Garg, a 1993 batch IPS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the new Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), according to an official order issued on 17 September 2024.

Garg, who was previously serving as Additional Director General in the Border Security Force (BSF) at its New Delhi headquarters, will lead the NCB on deputation until 23 May 2026 or further orders. His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

He succeeds CRPF Director General Anish Dayal Singh, who was holding the post of NCB chief in an additional capacity after the retirement of S N Pradhan in August.
