Lucknow: Three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers including Meerut’s Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), who triggered a controversy in the wake of a viral video showing him allegedly demanding money from a businessman, were transferred by the Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday.

The 2018 batch IPS Anirudh Kumar, who was earlier posted in Varanasi, has been shifted to CB-CID, according to a state government order. Varanasi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Arti Singh has been moved to Kanpur Police Commissionerate, while Ankita Sharma has been appointed DCP, Varanasi. /BI/
