Vigilant BSF seizes Chinese weapon consignment dropped by Pakistan drone in Gurudaspur

New Delhi: January 18: In a prompt action by the Border Security Force in Gurudaspur, a consignment of 4 China-made pistols, 8 Magazines and 47 live Rounds has been recovered from Uncha Takala village in Gurudaspur district, Punjab. The consignment of weapons was dropped by a Pakistani drone on the intervening night of 17-18 January.

“The BSF party deployed on the outskirts of Gurudaspur district heard the humming sound of a suspected drone coming from Pakistan side. Taking swift action BSF party fired towards the direction of sound. During firing, the party also heard the sound of something dropped in the nearby area,” said a BSF release.

Further, during an initial search of the area, a packet with wooden base frame was found lying in the farming field on the outskirts of Uncha Takala village. The packet contained China-made arms. A detailed search of the area is in progress, added the BSF statement.
