CCI approves acquisition of Micro Life Sciences

New Delhi: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of Micro Life Sciences Private Limited by South Elm Investments BV. The proposed combination pertains to the proposed acquisition of a minority stake in Micro Life Sciences Private Limited by South Elm Investments BV (SEI).

SEI is an investment holding company incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands. The shareholders of SEI are certain private equity funds managed by Warburg Pincus LLC, while Micro Life Sciences is incorporated in India and is primarily engaged in manufacture and sale of medical devices in various categories such as stents, catheters, heart valves, orthopaedic implants, and endosurgery products, in-vitro diagnostics analyzers and reagents, and over the counter (OTC) products like products Covid-19 self-test kits and pregnancy test kits, in India.

According to an official statement, Micro Life Sciences through its subsidiaries is also engaged in the business to customer sale of certain specialized medical devices such as surgical robots and ultrasonic energy devices to hospitals and has research and development facilities for in-vitro diagnostic, orthopaedic, endosurgery and cardiovascular solutions. /BI/
