Ferozepur: On Wednesday, Banwari Lal Purohit, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory of Chandigarh accompanied by State officials visited the border area of BSF sectors Abohar and Ferozepur under Punjab Frontier.

Purohit paid homage to fallen bravehearts at National Martyr's Memorial by laying wreath at JCP Hussainiwala under Ferozepur Sector and further visited BSF Museum and Gallery. N S Jamwal, Addl DG BSF (Western Command) Chandigarh and Sonali Mishra, IG BSF Punjab Frontier, along with other senior officers, were present during the visit. BSF officials briefed the Governor about prevailing security scenario and challenges being faced by troops to protect the International boundary with Punjab. 

Purohit applauded the invaluable contribution of BSF in securing the frontiers of India said that the nation is proud of the force for their dedication under challenging circumstances. The Governor also complimented BSF for its various civic action programmes, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic for the border population. / BI
