New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of eight IAS officers and has upgraded the scale of four IAS officers. According to an official notification, Amrit Lal Meena, IAS (BH:89), presently in the cadre as Additional Secretary, Logistics, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry by temporarily downgrading the post of Special Secretary, Logistics, Department of Commerce, has been posted to Additional Secretary level.

Sudhir Garg, IAS (UP:90) presently in the cadre, has been appointed Additional Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs; Jayant Sinha, IA&AS:90, presently in the cadre, as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting; Sanjiv Kumar, IAS (UT:92), Executive Director (North), Food Corporation of India, Department of Food and Public Distribution as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

The notification said that Kamlesh Kumar Pant, IAS (HP: 93), presently in the cadre, has been appointed chairperson, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority, Department of Pharmaceuticals in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary vice Shubhra Singh, IAS (RJ: 89) upon her repatriation to the cadre; Sanjay Garg, IAS (KL: 94), presently in the cadre, as Additional Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research & Education and Secretary, Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

Suman Sharma, IRS (IT: 90), Additional DGFT, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Department of Commerce, has been appointed Managing Director, Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (JS level) under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, and Tanmay Kumar, IAS (RJ: 93), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. The officer will also hold the additional charge of the post of Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board.

The ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of four officers to the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India, as a measure personal to them, by temporarily upgrading the post held by them. They are Shantmanu, IAS (JK: 91), Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, has been appointed as Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary; Sanjay Rastogi, IAS (OR: 91), Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, has been posted as Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.

The notification of DoPT said that Sudeep Jam, IAS (TN: 94), Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India has been appointed Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, and Amit Kumar Ghosh, IAS (UP: 94), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has been appointed Additional Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The ACC has also approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Director General (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism to Ganji Kamala V Rao, IAS (KL: 90), Chairman and Managing Director, India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. till appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier. /BI/
