C Gangadharan, working as Director with the Union Ministry of Mines, has been transferred to Union Ministry of Culture. Amit Varadan, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, has been appointed part-time Official Director of HMT Ltd.

According to an official statement, Varadan, serving as Joint Secretary at the Department of Heavy Industry (DHI), has been appointed as part-time Official Director on the Board of HMT Limited, which is a state-owned PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. Varadan is an IRTS officer of 1990-batch.
