New Delhi: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Thursday announced the transfer and posting of more than 30 IAS officers across key departments, including health, education, revenue, and excise. The reshuffle comes following a meeting of the National Civil Services Authority (NCCSA), chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, officials confirmed.
This long-awaited meeting of the three-member panel, which includes the chief secretary and divisional commissioner, had been delayed for several months due to various factors, including the imprisonment of former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. The transfer orders were issued hours after the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced the movement of several IAS officers from the AGMUT (Arunachal, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories) cadre, affecting key positions in Delhi, including special secretary (vigilance) YVVJ Rajasekhar, who was sent to Arunachal Pradesh.
As per the transfer orders issued by the Delhi government’s Services Department, 2002-batch IAS officer Nikhil Kumar has been appointed as principal secretary (Revenue) cum divisional commissioner. Shilpa Shinde, a 2006 batch officer of the AGMUT cadre and former managing director of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), will now serve as the chief executive officer of Delhi Jal Board.
New Delhi deputy commissioner Ravi Jha, a 2011-batch officer, has been named excise commissioner of Delhi. Three female IAS officers—Veditha Reddy, Nazuk Kumar, and Shreya Singhal—will join the education department, with Reddy as director and Kumar and Singhal as additional directors.
Chanchal Yadav, currently serving as secretary (home) and commissioner (trade and taxes), has been relieved of her duties in the home department and has taken on additional responsibility as secretary in the women and child development department. Special secretary (power) Ravi Dhawan has been assigned the role of managing director of Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), replacing Sanjeev Kumar Mittal, who will now serve as special commissioner in the Road Safety cell.
Five IAS officers who had been awaiting posting were also allocated roles by the lieutenant governor. These include B S Jaglan as executive director in DSIIDC and S M Ali as special secretary in the urban development department. D Varma, a 2011-batch officer, has been appointed to the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board, while Vinay Kumar will serve as special secretary in the health department, with additional responsibilities in the home department.
Rajnish Kumar Singh, a 2007-batch DANICS officer, has been named additional secretary to the Delhi chief minister. He previously served as secretary to Atishi during her tenure as a minister handling portfolios like PWD, finance, and revenue.
