New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Dr Milind Ramteke as Principal Secretary (PS) to Union Ministry of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik. Dr Ramteke, an IAS officer of 2009 batch of Tripura cadre, was currently a Deputy Director at The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, a premier training institution for the civil services in India.

LBSNAA is headed by a Director, an officer of the level of Secretary to the Government of India, and is an attached office of the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India. It conducts a common Foundation Course for entrants to the All India Services; Indian Foreign Service; Group ‘A’ services of the Union and the Royal Bhutan Service followed by professional training for the regular recruits of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and members of the Royal Bhutan Service.

The ACC also approved the proposal of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade for the extension of entrustment of additional charge of post of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM), Mumbai to Rajendra Ratnoo, an IAS officer of 2001 batch of Tamil Nadu cadre. The Government of India has also issued an order to extend the central deputation tenure of Rabindra Kumar Karna, 1991 batch IDAS officer, as Additional FA and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence. He has been given an extension for a period of three months. /BI/
