Jaipur: The 1989 batch IAS officer Niranjan Kumar Arya has been appointed the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan. He was currently serving as an Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Excise and Taxation Department. The State government had requested the extension of three months for the outgoing Chief Secretary Rajeeva Swarup but the Centre did not give its nod.

Rajasthan government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has issued the transfer and posting orders for 21 IAS officers. Venu Gupta has been appointed Director, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, Dr Subodh Agrawal Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL), Jaipur; Rajeshwar Singh, CMD, Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation, Jaipur; Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary, Finance, Excise and Taxation Department; and Shikhar Agrawal, Principal Secretary, Tribal Regional Development Department, Jaipur.

According to the government order, Anand Kumar has been appointed Principal Secretary, Revenue, Colonization, Military Welfare Department, Disaster Management, Assistance and Civil Protection Department, Jaipur; Ajitabh Sharma, Principal Secretary, Department of Mines and Petroleum, Information Technology and Communications Department; Dinesh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Energy Department, Director, Discom, CMD, Rajasthan State Electricity Broadcasting Corporation Ltd., and CMD, Rajasthan Energy Development Corporation Ltd.
