Odisha government transfers 18 senior IAS officers

Bhubaneshwar: In a significant bureaucratic overhaul, the Odisha government has transferred 18 senior IAS officers, according to a notification from the General Administration department.

 

Satyabrata Sahu has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for the Home Department, while D.K. Singh has been named Additional Chief Secretary for the Revenue and Disaster Management Department. Sahu will also hold additional responsibilities as ACS for the Forest, Environment, and Climate Change department. Singh will continue to oversee the Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha, and the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority.

 

The additional roles of Satyabrata Sahu as SRC and Managing Director of OSDMA will end when Singh assumes his position, as stated in the notification.

 

Surendra Kumar, currently ACS for the General Administration and Public Grievance Department with additional responsibilities in Tourism and Parliamentary Affairs, will be moved to ACS for the Steel and Mines Department. He will retain his additional duties as ACS for General Administration and Public Grievance, Parliamentary Affairs, and as Chairman of the Odisha Mining Corporation Limited, Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited, and the Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha Limited.

 

Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary for the Industries Department with additional charge of Chairman of IPICOL and Principal Secretary of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Department, will also retain his role as Principal Secretary for the Energy department. Saswat Mishra’s additional appointment as Principal Secretary for Energy will cease when Sharma takes over.

 

Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary for the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, will continue to hold additional responsibilities as Principal Secretary for the ST & SC Development, Minorities, and Backward Classes Welfare Department, and Principal Secretary for the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department. Shalini Pandit’s additional role as Commissioner-cum-Secretary for the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department will end upon Sethi’s appointment.

 

Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary for Skill Development and Technical Education with additional charges for Commerce & Transport and Housing & Urban Development, will be appointed as Principal Secretary for the Housing & Urban Development Department. She will continue to hold the additional charge of Principal Secretary for Commerce and Transport.

 

Vishal Gagan, Special Secretary for the Industries department, will be appointed as Principal Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.

 

N.B.S. Rajput, Principal Secretary to the Governor, will continue to hold the additional charge of Principal Secretary for Skill Development and Technical Education. /BI
