The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of appointment of Ajay Kumar Singh as Press Secretary to the President of India, on a contract basis. Political journalist Singh was appointed the Press Secretary to the President in September 2019 for a period of one year.

He started his career with The Times of India in 1985, Lucknow Edition, and also worked with The Economic Times and The Telegraph. He later joined The Pioneer in Delhi.
