Imphal: The Government of Manipur has appointed Indian Police Service (IPS) officer P Doungel as the new Director General of Police (DGP). Doungel, a 1987 batch IPS officer, is currently serving as DGP-Prisons. 

“The Governor of Manipur is pleased to allow Shri P Doungel, IPS, to also hold the charge of Director General of Police, Manipur and Head of Police Force with immediate effect and until further orders in public interest,” an order stated. /BI/
