Several IAS officers reshuffled, Tarun Kapoor appointed Advisor to PM

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the reshuffle of several officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) with Tarun Kumar being appointed advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kapoor is an IAS officer of the 1987 batch of Himachal Pradesh cadre. He has been appointed in the rank and scale of Secretary to the Government of India.

Han Ranjan Rao, an IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre and 1994 batch and currently serving as Administrator, Universal Services Obligation Fund, Department of Telecommunications, has been given the charge as Additional Secretary, Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Atish Chandra, a 1994 batch IAS of Bihar cadre and currently CMD, Food Corporation of India, Department of Food and Public Distribution, has been given the charge as Additional Secretary in PMO. Devendra Kumar Singh, 1988 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, currently posted as Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation has been appointed Secretary General, National Human Rights Commission in the rank and pay of Secretary to the GoI.

Alkesh Kumar Sharma, a 1990 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre and currently Secretary, Coordination, Cabinet Secretariat, has been appointed Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Sanjay Kumar, also 1990 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, has been appointed Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. /BI/
