India celebrates National Space Day with the launch of E-Magazine 'Sapno ki Udaan' to inspire young minds

New Delhi: On the occasion of India's National Space Day, the Department of School Education & Literacy, in collaboration with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), released the inaugural edition of the e-magazine 'Sapno ki Udaan'. The launch commemorated the first anniversary of Chandrayaan-3's historic landing on the lunar South Pole.

 

Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, virtually released the first edition of the e-magazine. The event was also attended virtually by Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Education, who joined the launch to mark this significant educational initiative.

 

During his address at the virtual launch, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan praised the introduction of the e-magazine, emphasizing its alignment with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He highlighted that 'Sapno ki Udaan' aims to make education more accessible and equitable, preparing students for the global challenges of the 21st century. He further noted that the current theme of the magazine, "space," resonates with the vast imagination of young students.

 

Shri Jayant Chowdhury, Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, also spoke at the event. He remarked that the release of the e-magazine on National Space Day was a fitting tribute to India's scientific achievements and would help foster a spirit of scientific inquiry and curiosity among students.

 

Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, who also spoke during the event, described 'Sapno ki Udaan' as a compelling mix of poetry, essays, stories, anecdotes, and riddles contributed by students, teachers, and parents from across India. He announced that the e-magazine would initially be published quarterly but would eventually move to a monthly release schedule.

 

The event was attended by other prominent figures, including Shri Vipin Kumar, Additional Secretary; Prof. D.P. Saklani, Director of NCERT; Shri Rahul Singh, Chairperson of CBSE; Ms. Prachi Pandey, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education; Prof. Saroj Sharma, Chairperson of NIOS; Prof. Jyotsana Tiwari of NCERT; and other senior officials from the Ministry.

 

The dignitaries expressed their satisfaction with the launch of the e-magazine, recognizing the importance of this collaborative effort in enhancing educational resources for students. They were optimistic that the continued collaboration among stakeholders would result in an enriching and beneficial publication for all.

 

The inaugural issue of 'Sapno ki Udaan,' along with all future editions, will be available online for readers on the NCERT portal, providing easy access to this new educational resource.
