New Delhi: The Indian Army's Motorcycle Rider Display Team, known as the "Daredevils," accomplished an extraordinary feat on January 20, 2025, at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, by setting a World Record for the tallest human pyramid on moving motorcycles. The formation, standing at an impressive height of 20.4 feet and involving 40 men on 7 motorcycles, covered a distance of 2 kilometers, traveling from Vijay Chowk to India Gate.
The Daredevils, a renowned team from the Corps of Signals with a storied legacy of excellence, have now achieved an astonishing 33 World Records, including entries in the Guinness Book of World Records, Asia Book of Records, and Limca Book of Records. Their latest achievement was celebrated at India Gate, where the team was received with great enthusiasm by the Signals Fraternity, including Lieutenant General KV Kumar, Head of the Corps of Signals. The team’s long-standing tradition of captivating audiences dates back to 1935, with over 1,600 displays at prestigious events such as Republic Day Parades, Army Day Parades, and Military Tattoos, showcasing the Indian Army’s skill and dedication.
In line with the government’s mission to enhance "Jan Bhagidari" (public participation) in events of national significance, approximately 10,000 special guests have been invited to witness the 76th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, on January 26, 2025. These guests, celebrated as the architects of "Swarnim Bharat" (Golden India), come from diverse backgrounds, including top performers in various fields and beneficiaries of government schemes. Sarpanches from villages that have achieved milestones under select government initiatives, winners of a national-level panchayat competition by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, and Self-Help Group (SHG) members excelling in areas such as income generation, employment, and environmental protection, are among the invitees.
Priority has been given to SHG members who have not previously visited Delhi, along with participants of the PM-JANMAN mission, Tribal artisans associated with the Van Dhan Vikas Yojana, beneficiaries of the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation, ASHA workers, and MyBharat volunteers. Their presence reflects a collective celebration of grassroots achievements and the spirit of inclusivity in the Republic Day celebrations.
