Narcotics Control Bureau uses poetry to empower youth against drug abuse

Chandigarhi: The Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau has introduced a creative approach to tackle drug abuse among adolescents by launching a motivational poem titled Rise Above, Go Beyond. This initiative aims to inspire young people to steer clear of drugs and focus on building life skills for a brighter future.

The poem was unveiled as part of the bureau’s Chakravyuh initiative, an anti-drugs escape room programme held at DAV Police Public School in Ambala. Through its verses, Rise Above, Go Beyond encourages young individuals to reject drugs and negative influences while emphasising personal growth, skill development, and meaningful contributions to society.

The bureau has also called on schools across Haryana to include the poem in their curriculum and actively engage students with its empowering message. In addition, Haryanvi singers, social media influencers, and Bollywood celebrities have been enlisted to share video messages warning against the dangers of drug abuse and promoting the campaign's vision.

Last week, the bureau launched another initiative, the bucket challenge, which urged young people to pledge to stay away from drugs. With these innovative efforts, the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau continues to focus on empowering the youth and shaping a drug-free future.

The poem concludes with a call to action for young minds to rise above challenges, take control of their lives, and contribute to Haryana's progress by building a meaningful and productive future.
