Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a meeting regarding the 100 days action plan of the Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Ministry

New Delhi: Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan discussed in detail with senior officials of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department regarding the 100-day agricultural action plan, as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chouhan told the officials to focus their entire attention on farmer-oriented works so that progress can be made swiftly in line with the Prime Minister’s vision.

The Union Minister, while reviewing all aspects of the departmental action plan for the first 100 days in the third term of the Modi government, gave directions to take strong steps to strengthen the country's agriculture sector and to alleviate the difficulties faced by farmers. He emphasized that the availability of quality fertilizers, seeds, and other inputs to farmers should be ensured on a priority basis. He stated that farmers should not encounter any problems in this regard, and special care should be taken.

Chouhan stressed that agricultural production and productivity should increase in the country. He called for the implementation of a concrete action plan to export quality agricultural products to other countries, fulfilling both international and domestic needs. In the meeting, senior officials presented department-wise schemes.

Union Ministers of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Ram Nath Thakur and Bhagirath Chaudhary, Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja, and Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Himanshu Pathak were also present in the meeting. /BI
