New Delhi: The Global INDIAai Summit 2024 concluded on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with overwhelming participation both physically and virtually. The summit drew 2,000 AI experts in person, while virtual attendance surpassed 10,000, underscoring its significance in the global AI community.

Throughout the summit, each session delved deeply into diverse topics, addressing implementation challenges and outlining India's specific needs in shaping its AI strategy. These discussions underscored India's commitment to democratise AI, making it accessible globally and setting a precedent for inclusive AI development.

Central to the summit were discussions on the INDIAai Mission's core pillars, highlighting India's ambition to nurture a robust and inclusive AI ecosystem. This commitment aims not only to meet domestic demands but also to lead in global AI innovation, positioning India as a pivotal player in shaping the future of AI technology.

The summit also received commendation from Global South countries for India's role in amplifying their voices on the global AI stage, fostering greater equity and representation in AI discourse between the Global North and South. Additionally, the Collaborative AI on Global Partnership (CAIGP) meeting brought together GPAI members, AI experts, and industry leaders to strategise on reducing global AI disparities and enhancing collaboration.

A significant announcement during the summit was the new integrated partnership on AI between the OECD and GPAI, unveiled in New Delhi. This partnership is poised to further strengthen global cooperation and governance frameworks for AI, ensuring its responsible and ethical development worldwide.
