New Delhi: The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) will celebrate its eighth annual day on 1st October 2024. The main event will take place in New Delhi. Chief Justice (Retd.) Ramalingam Sudhakar, President of the National Company Law Tribunal, will be the Chief Guest and deliver a keynote address. Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa and former CEO of NITI Aayog, will deliver the annual day lecture. Dr V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, and Deepti Gaur Mukerjee, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, will also address the audience.
As part of the celebration, an annual publication titled "IBC के आठवर्ष: शोध एवं विश्लेषण" will be released.
The winners of the 5th National Online Quiz on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) will be awarded a merit certificate, medal, and cash prize.
Over the last eight years, the IBC has significantly improved the resolution of insolvency cases, boosting investor and stakeholder confidence while fostering a more favourable business environment. The Code's deterrent effect, particularly its provision for transferring control of a corporate debtor, has had a substantial influence on debtor behaviour. The risk of ownership transfer has encouraged disciplined management and reduced actions that could trigger insolvency.
Senior government officers and representatives from regulatory bodies will be in attendance, along with stakeholders from the insolvency regime, including insolvency professionals, registered valuers, debtors, creditors, business leaders, academicians, and researchers.
