Maruti Suzuki contributes INR 3 crore to PM CARES fund for flood relief

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has donated INR 3 crore to the PM CARES fund to support flood relief efforts across various states impacted by heavy rains. This contribution is part of the company's ongoing commitment to assist in the recovery from the widespread damage caused by recent floods, which have severely affected lives and livelihoods in many parts of the country.

In a statement, Maruti Suzuki's Managing Director and CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, expressed solidarity with the affected communities, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in times of crisis. He highlighted that the donation is intended to aid the government's relief and rehabilitation initiatives for those affected by the floods.

In addition to its financial contribution, Maruti Suzuki has implemented several proactive measures to support customers in flood-affected regions. The company introduced an advanced alert system that sent out 170 lakh precautionary messages to customers between July 2023 and August 2024, based on government weather forecasts. These alerts provided guidance on safeguarding vehicles from potential damage during severe weather conditions.

Maruti Suzuki also collaborated with vehicle towing agencies to ensure round-the-clock assistance for stranded vehicles. The company's workshops extended their operating hours in affected areas to expedite repairs, while additional technicians were placed on standby to meet increased demand. Moreover, the company coordinated with its insurance partners to facilitate quicker processing of claims for affected customers.

Service Managers were specifically designated for different regions to offer direct support, with their contact details shared with customers to ensure timely assistance during this challenging period. /BI
