BEML rolls out new motor grader BG 1205 to boost India's mining power

Mysuru: In a major step towards strengthening India’s mining infrastructure, BEML Ltd has launched its latest homegrown innovation, the Motor Grader BG 1205. Designed and built entirely in India, the equipment is geared to meet the heavy demands of mining regions like SECL Bilaspur and NCL Singrauli, where robust road-laying machinery is essential.

The BG 1205, fitted with a 24-foot blade, is crafted for high-performance operations, especially in areas that rely on heavy-duty dumpers. It aims to improve both efficiency and output in mining activities, while supporting India’s push for self-reliance in critical sectors.

The launch event took place at BEML’s Mysuru complex, with top leaders from BEML and South Eastern Coalfields Ltd. (SECL) coming together to mark the occasion. The newly unveiled grader is expected to not only boost productivity but also reduce the sector’s dependence on imported equipment.

BEML's leadership shared that the BG 1205 reflects the company's sharp focus on research and innovation to meet the changing needs of the mining industry. "This machine represents our effort to design equipment that meets future requirements of the sector. It will strengthen the capabilities of our mining partners and support India's industrial growth," said the CMD of BEML.

Adding to this, SECL’s CMD noted the longstanding relationship between SECL and BEML, highlighting the trust in BEML’s equipment to deliver strong results in demanding mining environments. He expressed optimism that the BG 1205 will add significant value to SECL’s operations.

As the mining sector gears up for expansion, BEML’s latest launch comes at a crucial time. It aligns with Coal India’s target of cutting down on imported mining machinery and reinforces the Make in India mission, further building momentum towards a self-reliant industrial future.
