
New Delhi: The government has appointed 2000-batch IAS officer Jitendra Srivastava as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of state-owned REC Ltd. The appointment is effective immediately, the company confirmed in a regulatory filing on April 22.
Srivastava takes over the role from Parminder Chopra, CMD of Power Finance Corporation (PFC), who was holding additional charge of REC.
The Ministry of Power formally conveyed the appointment of Srivastava, who was serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. He will now serve as CMD of REC Ltd in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
An IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, Srivastava has held various key administrative and leadership positions both in the central and state governments. He previously served as Secretary in Bihar’s Home Department and Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), among other significant roles.
His experience spans a range of sectors including finance, power, education, public health, and infrastructure.
