Kolkata: Indian Oil Corporation Limited has entered into a partnership with Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives to improve cancer care infrastructure in eastern India. The agreement will facilitate the acquisition of advanced medical technologies aimed at enhancing precision and efficiency in cancer treatment.
As part of the initiative, Indian Oil will extend financial support amounting to Rs 26.20 crore for the procurement of cutting-edge equipment, including brachytherapy systems and a radio CT planner. These advanced tools are expected to play a crucial role in delivering targeted radiation therapy, offering improved treatment outcomes for cancer patients.
The formal signing of the memorandum of understanding took place at Tata Medical Centre in Kolkata. Indian Oil was represented by LKS Chauhan, executive director and state head, West Bengal state office, along with senior officials Gautam Datta, chief general manager, human resources, and Ajay Kumar Wazir, deputy general manager, HR-CSR. Tata Medical Centre was represented by Dr P Arun, its chief executive officer, along with senior oncology and radiation specialists.
Speaking on the occasion, Chauhan said, “Indian Oil’s values of Care and Trust are deeply embedded in our CSR efforts. This initiative underscores our focus on community welfare, particularly in the critical area of healthcare. We are confident that this collaboration will significantly enhance cancer treatment accessibility and bring meaningful relief to patients and their families.”
