NTPC reports 3.9% increase in power generation for H1 FY25

New Delhi: NTPC Ltd, India's largest power generator, has announced a 3.91% rise in power generation for the first half of the fiscal year 2025, reaching a total of 219.94 billion units (BU) compared to the same period last year. The company’s coal stations recorded a plant load factor (PLF) of 76.3% from April to September 2024.

In addition to its generation achievements, NTPC's mining division, NTPC Mining, produced 19 million tonnes (MT) of coal during this period, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 20%. The division dispatched 19.7 MT of coal to NTPC's power stations, reflecting an increase of approximately 16% compared to the previous fiscal year.

Overall, NTPC Mining has produced over 123 MT and dispatched more than 121 MT of coal from its five operational captive coal mines located in Pakri Barwadih, Kerandari, and Chatti Bariatu in Jharkhand, Dulanga in Odisha, and Talaipalli in Chhattisgarh. This consistent production ensures fuel security for NTPC’s thermal power stations, supporting the company's ongoing commitment to energy generation.
