New Delhi: Arvindar Singh Sahney has been selected as the next Director (Planning & Business Development) of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. He was recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on August 20, 2024. Sahney is currently serving as Executive Director (Business Development - Petrochemicals) in the same organisation.
Sahney was recommended for the position from a list of 12 candidates interviewed by the PESB selection panel on August 20. Among the candidates, six were from Indian Oil, two from HPCL, two from GAIL, and one each from Indraprastha Gas Limited and ONGC Petro additions Ltd (Opal).
As Director (Planning & Business Development) of Indian Oil, Sahney will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman. He will contribute to the formulation of corporate plans, policies, and strategies, both short and long term, to achieve the Corporation's business objectives. He will lead the business development wing of the company and be responsible for the overall performance of this function. /BI
