New Delhi: RITES Ltd. and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) have entered into a partnership to jointly explore and undertake metro projects in India and international markets. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two entities focuses on providing consultancy, project management, and design services for urban transit systems.
The collaboration aims to work on various metro-related projects, including feasibility studies, detailed designs, and general consultancy. This partnership aligns with RITES’ initiative to expand its international presence through its ‘RITES Videsh’ programme.
DMRC, known for its extensive experience in operating and maintaining metro systems, will contribute its operational expertise, while RITES will bring its infrastructure consultancy capabilities. Together, they intend to leverage their combined expertise to secure and deliver metro projects in both domestic and global markets.
This collaboration seeks to tap into the growing opportunities in urban transit infrastructure, especially as metro projects continue to expand in cities worldwide. The move is timely, given the increasing importance of urban mobility solutions due to rapid urbanisation and the need for efficient public transport systems.
