New Delhi: SJVN Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), has successfully achieved the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for 241.77 MW capacity under Phase-I of the 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power project.
The project, located in Bikaner district of Rajasthan, is being developed under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme – Phase II, Tranche III by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
According to an official statement, the full 1000 MW capacity is scheduled to be commissioned by September 30, 2025. Once completed, SGEL will supply clean solar power to the states of Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.
The project is being executed under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) mode, thereby supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative and strengthening the indigenous solar manufacturing sector.
The 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power project is a key milestone in contributing to India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based power capacity by 2030. It also aligns with SJVN’s shared vision of becoming a 25,000 MW company by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040.
