Mumbai: Amazon India has announced plans to provide free health check-ups to more than 80,000 delivery associates and delivery partners by the end of 2025 through a series of medical camps across the country. The initiative, which has already seen camps conducted in Tamil Nadu and the Delhi NCR region, focuses on improving access to preventive healthcare for those supporting Amazon’s last-mile operations.
Organised in partnership with Marsh and Care Insurance, the camps offer essential services such as eye examinations, dental check-ups, BMI assessments, and general physician consultations. Delivery associates and partners can attend the camps by presenting a government-issued identity proof at designated Amazon last-mile delivery stations.
“We’re proud to launch these comprehensive medical camps across India to support delivery associates’ and delivery partners’ wellbeing. This initiative strengthens Amazon’s and their delivery service partner’s robust benefits package, which already includes Group Mediclaim and Group Personal Accident insurance. By bringing preventive healthcare directly to our delivery stations, we’re making essential medical services accessible to 80,000 delivery associates and delivery partners who form the backbone of last-mile operations,” said Dr Karuna Shankar Pande, VP Amazon Logistics, Amazon India.
The next phase of the camps is already underway, with a focus on North Indian cities including Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Noida, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Varanasi. During the consultations, medical professionals assess health parameters and provide personalised advice on managing wellness, including hydration tips and early signs of heat exhaustion, especially crucial given the region’s high summer temperatures.
Where necessary, doctors offer prescriptions and guide delivery associates on seeking further medical consultations. The initiative complements the existing benefits under Amazon’s delivery services programmes such as “I Have Space” (IHS), Flex, and the Delivery Service Partner (DSP) network.
In addition to health camps, Amazon has also announced plans to expand its network of Ashray centres to 100 by 2025. These centres provide air-conditioned seating, drinking water, electrolytes, mobile charging points, washrooms, first-aid kits, and refreshments to delivery associates. Located at petrol pumps and commercial rental spaces, Ashray centres operate daily from 9 AM to 9 PM and can accommodate up to 15 people at a time, offering free access for up to 30 minutes per visit.
Through initiatives like the health camps and Ashray centres, Amazon is working to create a more supportive ecosystem for its delivery workforce across India.
