Jodhpur: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has joined hands with The Akshaya Patra Foundation to support 1,000 students from government and government-aided schools in Jodhpur, Lucknow, and Visakhapatnam. This initiative, undertaken as part of HPCL's CSR efforts, aims to provide hot and nutritious meals to children, promoting their health and overall well-being.
An agreement was formalised on 7 November 2024, with Rajeev Goel, Executive Director, CSR & PRCC at HPCL, and Dhananjay Ganjoo, Chief Marketing Officer of The Akshaya Patra Foundation, signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Akshaya Patra, a non-profit organisation and an implementing partner of the PM POSHAN programme, focuses on providing meals to children to support their education.
Speaking at the event, Rajeev Goel highlighted HPCL’s dedication to empowering young minds, noting that the initiative aims to address both the nutritional and educational needs of children, helping them achieve better academic outcomes. Dhananjay Ganjoo expressed gratitude for HPCL’s support, emphasising the foundation’s commitment to ensuring no child’s aspirations are hindered by a lack of nutrition.
This collaboration seeks to strengthen the connection between education and nutrition, encouraging higher school attendance and improving students’ nutritional status. By working together, HPCL and Akshaya Patra aim to empower children to thrive academically and healthily, creating a pathway to a brighter future.
