Hyundai Motor India Foundation launches ₹3.38 crore scholarship program to support aspiring leaders

Gurugram: Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the philanthropic wing of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has introduced the ‘Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program,’ a new initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged students across India. The program, which will be managed by BharatCares on behalf of HMIF, focuses on providing financial assistance to aspirants preparing for the Civil Services examination, Common Law Admission Test, and projects of IIT students.

The scholarship program was officially launched in the presence of H. D. Kumaraswamy, Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Minister of Steel, alongside Puneet Anand, Vertical Head – Corporate Communication & Social at HMIL, and Soon Sang Hong, Vertical Advisor – Corporate Communication and Social at Hyundai Motor India Limited. With an investment of ₹3.38 crores, the Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program aims to benefit 300 civil services and law aspirants and support 150 IIT student teams.

Puneet Anand highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating, “Aligned with Hyundai’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity,’ we are committed to creating shared value and driving positive change in society. The Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program was conceived to build future leaders by offering comprehensive resources, financial assistance, mentorship, and support systems to help aspiring talent focus on their goals.”

Anand further emphasised that the program aims to level the playing field and empower the next generation of leaders in India, contributing to the nation’s social and economic growth.

Union Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy commended the initiative, noting that financial constraints often pose significant challenges for deserving candidates, especially in critical fields like civil services, law, and technology. “The Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program is a commendable effort by HMIF to support students from economically weaker sections of society. This inclusive approach will have a far-reaching impact on the betterment of the country and reflects Hyundai Motor India’s commitment to nation-building,” he said.

By providing financial assistance and fostering excellence, the Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program aims to empower students to achieve their dreams, ultimately shaping a brighter future for themselves and contributing to the progress of the nation. /BI
