There will be zero tolerance towards corruption: ADG Kanpur Bhanu Bhaskar

Kanpur: There will be zero tolerance towards corruption and FIR will be registered against the cops who are found guilty of accepting bribes, said senior IPS officer and ADG, Kanpur zone, Bhanu Bhaskar. He has directed the police chiefs of all districts to rein in mafias as well.

Talking about the coming Panchayat elections, Bhaskar said that his first and foremost priority will be conducting the elections in a peaceful manner. He said that a strategy will be worked out after having deliberations with the police captains in this regard. The special focus will be on the areas, which are very sensitive!

The ADG has sought details regarding pending cases and ongoing investigations, sending a strong message down the line that he is not going to tolerate any laxity and corruption at all. The culprits of crimes must get punished, he said.

The ADG said that no negligence will be tolerated in crimes related to women and children. It is the responsibility of DIG, SSP and SP to supervise such cases themselves.

Bhaskar, a 1996 batch IPS officer, is originally from Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. An alumnus of the University of Delhi and the Jawaharlal Nehru University, he has served as ASP, SP and SSP in Lucknow, Mathura, Rampur, Auraiya, Bareilly, and Varanasi.

He was the DIG in Agra and Faizabad Range, and the DIG, Allahabad GRP. He has also served as DIG, PTC, Meerut. He has also served in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for approximately 15 years. He played an important role in the investigation of Bihar’s shelter home case. /BI
