India Charts Path to Global Tech Leadership at Technology Dialogue 2025

Bengaluru: At the “Technology Dialogue 2025” hosted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, launched the ambitious “Vision India Techade,” positioning India as a global leader in innovation and frontier technologies.

The Minister emphasized that science and technology are at the heart of India's mission to become a global innovation hub, addressing challenges such as climate change and public health while driving economic growth. He outlined key government initiatives, including the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), the National Quantum Mission, and the India AI Mission, aimed at making the 2020s a transformative decade for Indian technology.

Dr Singh highlighted the importance of international partnerships, noting that “strategic collaborations with like-minded nations are vital for advancing critical technologies such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and green hydrogen.” India's leadership in global technology governance was underscored by its co-chairmanship of the upcoming Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence in France and its contributions to the UN's International Year of Quantum Science and Technology in 2025.

The Minister stressed the importance of cross-sectoral synergies, such as integrating AI with biotechnology and quantum computing with secure communication systems, to maximize societal and economic impact. Ethical governance, responsible innovation, and robust intellectual property frameworks were cited as essential for fostering inclusive technological progress.

India's vibrant startup ecosystem, with over 100 unicorns, was celebrated as a driving force for foreign direct investment in frontier technologies. Dr Singh highlighted the government's commitment to creating a supportive policy environment, attracting global investors, and enabling equitable technology sharing.

Recognizing the role of the Indian diaspora, Dr Singh spotlighted initiatives like the VAIBHAV Summit and the OCI Scientist Scheme, which connect Indian innovators abroad with domestic stakeholders to advance co-innovation and capacity-building efforts.

“India’s technological journey is about contributing meaningfully to global progress while ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth,” Dr Singh stated in his concluding remarks. With its talented workforce, dynamic startups, and robust international partnerships, India is well-positioned to lead the world into a future driven by transformative technologies.

The event brought together dignitaries, industry leaders, and academics from around the world to shape priorities for India’s International Technology Engagement Framework (ITEF).
