Uttarakhand CM inaugurates major digital projects to enhance public services

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a series of innovative digital projects developed by the Department of Information Technology in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) at the State Secretariat. These initiatives, designed to enhance accessibility, efficiency and security in public service delivery, mark a significant milestone in the state’s digital transformation journey.

The projects, developed with the support of the Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA), aim to streamline service delivery through modern technological solutions. Citizens can now access multiple public services through a unified platform, eliminating the need for navigating multiple portals. This “all-in-one” approach ensures faster and more inclusive access to essential services.

A key highlight of these initiatives is the establishment of a “Near Disaster Recovery” system at the Secretariat. This system ensures the restoration of critical state applications and websites within 15 minutes during emergencies, minimizing disruptions to governance and public service. Chief Minister Dhami emphasized that this development represents a significant step toward strengthening Uttarakhand’s digital infrastructure, particularly in the domains of cybersecurity and data protection.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the adoption of the S3WaaS (Secure, Scalable and Sugamya Website as a Service) framework for department websites, which sets new benchmarks in cybersecurity. Additionally, ITDA’s recognition as an Authentication User Agency (AUA) and Key User Agency (KUA) by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) was acknowledged. This recognition facilitates Aadhaar-based authentication and e-KYC services across various departmental portals, including the Unified Citizen’s Charter (UCC) and Virtual Registry.

Recent enhancements to the State Data Center were also showcased, particularly the activation of a 24/7 Security Operations Center to counter emerging cyber threats. CM Dhami directed all departments to maintain updated information on their digital platforms and collaborate with ITDA to ensure seamless integration of these newly developed systems.
