New Delhi: In a historic move to modernize Delhi's infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three transformative projects executed by NBCC (India) Limited today. The World Trade Center (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar, GPRA Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar, and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Headquarters in Dwarka stand as milestones in sustainable urban development.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Lt. Governor of Delhi Vinai Kumar Saxena, highlighting the significance of these initiatives.
The WTC at Nauroji Nagar, spanning 25 acres, redefines commercial infrastructure with its 12 state-of-the-art towers, providing 34 lakh square feet of premium office space. Designed with sustainability in mind, it features energy-efficient lighting, solar panels generating 800KW of power, rainwater harvesting systems, and zero-discharge mechanisms. The WTC has achieved full occupancy, with 100% of its ₹13,400 crore office space sold, underscoring its strong investor appeal.
At Sarojini Nagar, the GPRA Type-II Quarters redevelopment covers 18.95 acres and introduces 28 towers comprising 2,526 residential units. These modern homes integrate eco-friendly features, including solar-powered waste compactors and water recycling systems. With community spaces and green areas, the project embodies NBCC’s vision of sustainable urban living.
The CBSE Headquarters in Dwarka, built at a cost of ₹300 crore, is a cutting-edge facility that symbolizes India’s ambition to enhance its educational infrastructure. Spread across three acres, the campus is poised to play a pivotal role in driving CBSE’s initiatives for educational excellence.
NBCC’s self-sustainable development model, which uses revenue from commercial projects to fund residential redevelopments, has not only transformed underutilized land parcels but also generated over 45 lakh man-days of employment. This dual focus on economic growth and environmental sustainability positions NBCC as a leader in reshaping India’s urban landscape.
The projects inaugurated today mark a significant step in Delhi’s journey toward modernization, meeting the demands of a dynamic, growing city while setting benchmarks in sustainability and innovation. As India progresses toward its vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, these initiatives are a testament to the transformative power of visionary leadership and strategic planning.
