Patna: NITI Aayog has launched the Bihar Next-Gen Lab, a state-of-the-art facility aimed at transforming governance in the state, with a strong focus on improving education and healthcare. The lab, inaugurated by NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam during a press conference in Gaya, is part of Bihar’s broader efforts to enhance governance through data-driven decision-making.

Subrahmanyam highlighted that several aspirational districts in Bihar are progressing rapidly due to better governance and improved service delivery. The Next-Gen Lab, located at the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD), will use AI-driven decision support systems to help administrators with predictive analysis and policy formulation, contributing to the state's overall development.

He noted that Bihar is showing notable improvement in key sectors like education and healthcare, with many regions on track to become inspirational models for other states. In addition to the Bihar Next-Gen Lab, BIPARD will also introduce two other facilities, Niti Shala, a simulation lab for governance training, and Viksit Chintan Kaksh, a collaborative space for policy discussions, further solidifying Bihar’s role as a leader in data-driven governance.
