Indian Air Force and Indian Army carry out first-of-its-kind precise para-drop of BHISHM critical trauma care cube at 15,000 feet

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) and Indian Army have jointly executed a pioneering para-drop operation, deploying the Aarogya Maitri Health Cube at a high-altitude location near 15,000 feet. These critical trauma care cubes were indigenously developed under Project BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita and Maitri). The operation aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of delivering essential supplies to areas affected by Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR) efforts.

The IAF utilised its advanced tactical transport aircraft, the C-130J Super Hercules, to airlift and precisely para-drop the trauma care cube. The Indian Army’s Para Brigade, renowned for its operational expertise and agility, played a crucial role in the successful deployment, using advanced precision drop equipment. This operation demonstrated the ability of specialised military assets to support HADR missions effectively, even in the most remote and mountainous regions.

The successful para-drop and deployment of the BHISHM trauma care cube highlighted the synergy and jointness of the Armed Forces, reaffirming their commitment to providing timely and effective assistance as first responders. /BI
