New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), one of India’s leading oil & gas manufacturing companies, in collaboration with Youth4Jobs launched an initiative ‘Silent Voices’ on 77 th Independence Day. The initiative aims at fostering socio-economic independence by championing inclusivity and diversity, providing equal opportunities for specially-abled youth within the mainstream workforce.
Under the Silent Voices scheme, BPCL aims to hire more than 250 hearing and speech-impaired youth at 90 BPCL fuel stations across the country. In bustling cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Kolkata, these individuals would utilize signs and gestures to provide customer service.
The program was inaugurated at the Police Fuel Station in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, in the presence of G Krishnakumar, Chairman & Managing Director of BPCL; Sukhmal Kumar Jain, Director (Marketing); Vetsa Ramakrishna Gupta, Director (Finance); Raj Kumar Dubey, Director (HR) and Sanjay Khanna, Director (Refineries); Santosh Kumar, Executive Director I/c (Retail). Senior officials of the company Youth4Jobs and members of the dealer fraternity were also present on the occasion.
It is expected that this initiative will bring a positive difference in the lives of specially-abled individuals. Equipping them with essential skills and practical experience and empower them financially & socially.
