Amritsar: The Ministry of Ayush is organising the All India Ayurveda Conference in collaboration with the state government. Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh inaugurated the event and urged the central government to establish an All India Institute of Ayurvedic Science in Punjab, similar to PGI. He emphasised that Ayurveda has a rich history spanning millions of years and assured that the state government is committed to its development.
He stated, "Our government's primary focus is on health and education, and we are ready to support the central government in any way we can."
Currently, there are 17 colleges and universities in the state dedicated to promoting Ayurveda. Additionally, as part of a special initiative to enhance health, the CM's Yogashala has been launched, with around 150,000 Punjabis participating in yoga classes at various locations each day.
He praised the organisers for hosting the conference, stating that their efforts would mark a significant milestone for the advancement of Ayurveda in the region. He also encouraged residents to adopt the practice of consuming locally produced food.
