Balanced farming will secure soil health, farmers’ prosperity: Haryana Agriculture Minister at PM-PRANAM Kisan Marathon

Karnal: The PM-PRANAM Kisan Marathon, organized by Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), brought together thousands of farmers in Karnal to spread awareness on sustainable farming under the PM-PRANAM (Programme for Restoration, Awareness Generation, Nourishment, and Amelioration of Mother-Earth) initiative of the Government of India. The scheme encourages balanced fertilizer use, reduction of excess application, and conservation of soil health for long-term agricultural prosperity.

Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana highlighted the critical role of farmers in protecting the environment, saying, “The PM-PRANAM Kisan Marathon is a celebration of our farmers’ role in protecting the earth. Together, with balanced farming and sustainable practices, we can build a future where soil health is preserved, productivity is enhanced, and farmers prosper.”

Echoing the theme, Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director of HURL, noted, “Every step taken in this marathon is a step towards sustainability. Together with our farmers and partners, HURL is committed to nurturing soil health and contributing to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

The event concluded with a resounding message: “संतुलित खेती, सुरक्षित मिट्टी” (balanced farming, secure soil), reaffirming the collective resolve to strengthen soil health and support India’s journey towards sustainable agriculture.

HURL, a joint venture of NTPC, IOCL, CIL, FCIL, and HFCL, operates fertilizer plants at Gorakhpur, Sindri, and Barauni, pioneering innovations to empower farmers and promote sustainability across India.
