Patna: The state cabinet has approved the creation of over 27,000 government posts across various departments, with a significant focus on the health and education sectors.
The move, approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is expected to address long-standing vacancies and improve access to essential services in underserved regions of the state.
The cabinet also approved the State Health Department's proposal for the constitution of three separate cadres, public health, health & services and hospital management.
According to the official statement, the new posts include over 14,000 teaching positions in schools and higher education institutions, alongside thousands of healthcare-related roles, including doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff. Additional appointments will also be made in technical and administrative departments.
The recruitment process is expected to begin soon, with a detailed notification to be issued by the concerned departments. The decision is also seen as part of the state’s broader push to meet sustainable development goals and improve governance outcomes.
