Raipur: With a renewed film policy, the proposed Chitrotpala Film City and filmmaker-friendly processes, the state aims to boost film tourism, investment and local employment.

Chhattisgarh is stepping up efforts to position itself as a major national film shooting destination, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai's government seeking to leverage the state's natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and tourism potential to attract filmmakers from across the country.

A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Vikasheel at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan reviewed key initiatives, including the renewal of the state's film policy, expediting the proposed Chitrotpala Film City, identifying new shooting locations and simplifying permissions through transparent, filmmaker-friendly processes.

The government also emphasised developing natural and cultural sites as suitable filming locations to make the state more attractive to the film industry.

The initiative is expected to give a boost to film production, tourism and the hospitality sector while generating employment opportunities for local artists, technicians and youth. It will also provide greater visibility to Chhattisgarh's cultural identity and create opportunities for local talent to participate in the growing creative economy.

Under Chief Minister Sai's leadership, the state is pursuing a broader development vision that seeks to turn its untapped tourism and cultural assets into engines of economic growth. The film industry push marks an important step towards establishing Chhattisgarh as a destination where cinema, culture and tourism converge.
