Centre reshuffles 16 IAS officers

New Delhi: In a major shuffle in the bureaucracy, the Union Government has approved several appointments in different departments of the ministries. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Nagendra Nath Sinha as Secretary, Ministry of Steel; Aramane Giridhar, Secretary, Department of Defense; and Vivek Joshi as an Officer on Special Duty, Department of Revenue.

According to an official statement, Amrit LaI Meena will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Coal; Sanjay Maihotra Secretary, Department of Revenue; Bhupinder Singh Bhalla as Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and Sanjay Kumar as Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy.

Sanjeev Chopra has been appointed Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution vice Sudhanshu Pandey, upon his superannuation on 31.10.2022; Meeta R Lochan as an Officer on Special Duty, Department of School Education and Literacy, and Alka Upadhyaya as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

According to the statement, Manoj Govil has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs; Shailesh Kumar Singh as Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development; Sudhansh Pant as Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Kamran Rizvi will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries.

The statement said that Rachna Shah will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, and Mrityunjay Kumar Narayan, an IAS officer of 1995 batch, has been approved to be appointed as the Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. /BI/
