NMDC’s best ever February performance

New Delhi: The National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (NMDC), India’s largest iron ore producer and a CPSE under the Ministry of Steel, has reported production of 4.31 million tonne (MT) and sale of 3.97 MT of iron ore for the month of February 2022. This reflects a growth of 11.7 per cent in production and 22.2 per cent in sales over the corresponding period of last year (CPLY), the highest production and sales numbers for any February in the history of the mining major.

The cumulative production and sales for the first eleven months of FY22 up to February 2022 stood at 37.18 MT and 36.57 MT respectively registering a growth of 26 per cent in production and 25.5 per cent in sales over the same period last year. These also represent the best ever 11 months of physical performance for NMDC.

Congratulating the team for yet another impressive performance, NMDC CMD Sumit Deb said: “With an overwhelming performance this month, NMDC remains an iron and steel powerhouse and this success is attributed to all the stakeholders of the company. This strong performance underwrites our commitment to stay on the growth path.” /BI/
