Numaligarh Refinery achieves 'Schedule A' status

New Delhi: Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has reached a significant milestone as it is elevated to the prestigious 'Schedule A' status by the Government of India. This recognition underscores NRL's exceptional financial performance, operational efficiency, and its significant role in driving economic development in the Northeast region.

With its remarkable sales revenue and profitability, NRL stands proudly among the top 20 Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) in India. It has established itself as a model refinery, setting industry benchmarks in distillate yield, energy consumption, and refining margin.

NRL is currently undertaking a mega refinery expansion project aimed at tripling its capacity to 9 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA). This ambitious endeavor positions NRL as the largest refinery in Northeast India.

Additionally, the company is also actively involved in laying a trans-national crude oil pipeline, connecting Paradip in Odisha. The combined investments for these projects amount to a staggering INR 35,000 crores, highlighting NRL's unwavering commitment to growth in the oil and gas sector.

The upgradation to 'Schedule A' status grants NRL greater financial autonomy, empowering the company to undertake larger projects and seize strategic growth opportunities. This recognition further solidifies NRL's position as a key player in the industry, capable of driving significant economic progress in the region.

With its relentless pursuit of excellence and dedication to innovation, Numaligarh Refinery Limited continues to shape the landscape of the Indian oil and gas sector, spearheading growth and contributing to the nation's progress. /BI/
