Union Power Minister RK Singh inaugurates POWERGRID Vishram Sadan in Vadodara

New Delhi: Union Power Minister RK Singh inaugurated POWERGRID Vishram Sadan in Vadodara on Monday through video conferencing.

During his address to the public, Singh expressed his appreciation for the admirable efforts of Power Grid and highlighted the positive impact that POWERGRID Vishram Sadan will have on underprivileged individuals residing in remote areas.

He also touched upon the robust power situation in the country and acknowledged the praiseworthy initiatives taken by the Government of India to make electricity accessible and affordable to the general public.

Constructed with a budget of approximately Rs 15 crore, the six-story Vishram Sadan boasts 235 beds and is equipped with all essential amenities to provide utmost comfort to patients' families. The facility features 55 rooms, each furnished with necessary provisions, to ensure that visitors have a comfortable stay.

As a conscientious corporate entity, POWERGRID has constructed comparable Vishram Sadans at several locations such as AIIMS in New Delhi, IGIMS in Patna, DMCH in Darbhanga, and KGMU in Lucknow, with the aim of benefiting the general public. Furthermore, POWERGRID is currently in the process of constructing additional Vishram Sadans in Ranchi, Bengaluru, and Guwahati.

The inauguration of POWERGRID Vishram Sadan was conducted in the presence of various dignitaries, including Union Minister for Power, New and Renewable Energy RK Singh, Member of Parliament of Vadodara Ranjanben Bhatt, MLA Keyurbhai Rokadiya, Mayor (Vadodara) Nileshbhai Rathod, Deputy Mayor (Vadodara) Nandaben Joshi, Ex MLA Jeetubhai Sukhadia, President of BJP Vadodara Dr Vijaybhai Shah, VMC Leader Alpeshbhai, Power Grid CMD K Sreekant, SSG Hospital's Superintendent Dr Ranjan Aiyar, and senior officials from Power Grid and SSG Hospital.

With its CSR initiatives costing around Rs 1000 crores, POWERGRID has been instrumental in promoting economic and social progress across the nation by actively participating in rural development, education, healthcare, skill development, environmental protection, and initiatives related to drinking water, water conservation, and sanitation. /BI/
