Haryana's urban governance gets a new team as 16 senior IAS officers reshuffled

Chandigarh: The Haryana government has issued a fresh posting order for 16 IAS officers with immediate effect. The changes touch several important departments, including urban local bodies, housing, town planning, excise and taxation, and the state's newer AI and clean air projects.

One of the most significant postings in the order is that of J. Ganesan, an IAS officer of the 2006 batch. He has been given charge of the Citizen Resources Information Department and has also been made Director General of Town and Country Planning and Urban Estates. Along with this, he continues as Chief Executive Officer of the Special Purpose Vehicles running the Haryana AI Development Project and the Haryana Clean Air Project for Sustainable Development. This makes him one of the few officers holding both a major urban administration role and charge of the state's newest technology and environment projects at the same time.

Urban governance sees wide changes in this order. Ashok Kumar Meena, a 2006 batch officer, has been appointed Commissioner and Secretary of Urban Local Bodies. Sharandeep Kaur Brar, from the 2009 batch, will now serve as Director General of Urban Local Bodies and Mission Director of the State Urban Livelihood Mission. Chander Shekhar Khare, a 2008 batch officer, takes over as Director General of Housing for All. Mukul Kumar and Vivek Padam Singh, from the 2011 and 2014 batches respectively, have been posted as Chief Administrator of HSVP Panchkula and Administrator of HSVP Rohtak. With these changes, most of the officers who oversee Haryana's urban local bodies, housing schemes and estate authorities have been replaced.

Rajeev Ranjan, from the 1998 batch, has been given additional charge as Principal Secretary, Fisheries Department, along with his existing charge of the Labour Department. Amneet P. Kumar, from the 2001 batch, has been posted as Principal Secretary of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, along with the Department of Future and the Sports Department. Shekhar Vidyarthi, from the 2004 batch, has been given additional charge as Chairman of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board.

Mani Ram Sharma, from the 2009 batch, has been posted as Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management, and Chief Settlement Commissioner. Rajnarayan Kaushik, from the 2010 batch, has been posted as Managing Director of HARTRON and of the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation. Amit Khatri, from the 2011 batch, has been posted as Director of Agriculture, Managing Director of the Haryana Seeds Development Corporation, Director of Archaeology and Museums, and CEO of Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam. Vinay Pratap Singh, also from the 2011 batch, has been posted as Administrator of the Trade Fair Authority in New Delhi, and Managing Director of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation and Haryana Financial Corporation.

Sushil Sarwan, from the 2012 batch, has been posted as Director of Development and Panchayats, and Managing Director of the Haryana State Co-operative Apex Bank. Parth Gupta, from the 2013 batch, has been posted as Director of Skill Development and Industrial Training, Director of Tourism, and Managing Director of the Haryana Tourism Corporation. Anish Yadav, from the 2014 batch, has been posted as Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Special Secretary of Finance, and Managing Director of HAFED and the Haryana International Horticultural Marketing Corporation.

The order has been issued under the signature of Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi and takes immediate effect. Several Haryana Civil Service (HCS) officers have also been transferred in the same order, including Rakesh Saini and Anupma Malik, who have swapped charges as Estate Officer at HSVP Gurugram.
